ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵਰਗ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਾਨ ਉਪਲਬਧਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਧਦੀ ਖਪਤ—ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ—ਗੰਭੀਰ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੀ ਬਿਗਾੜ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਟੁੱਟਣਾ, ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ, ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਪਾਦਕ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ, ਸਹਿਮਤ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਸੰਕਟ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ-ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਨਤਕ ਸਿਹਤ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ, ਇਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨਰਵਾਸ ‘ਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਸੰਤੁਲਿਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ ਅਪਣਾਉਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।

- ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚ, ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ
- ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧਦੀ ਲਤ
- ਪੁਨਰਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ
- ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਦਦ ਨਾ ਲੈਣਾ

ਅਸੀਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਲਾਗੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ:

However, the increasing availability and consumption of drugs—especially among young people—has led to severe consequences, including declining health, broken families, rising crime, unemployment, and loss of productive potential. Despite ongoing efforts, the problem remains deep-rooted and demands stronger, coordinated, and sustained action.
This crisis is not only a law-and-order issue but also a public health, social, and economic challenge. Addressing it requires a balanced approach that focuses on prevention, enforcement, treatment, and rehabilitation, rather than punishment alone.
Our Key Concerns:
- Easy access to drugs, especially in border and vulnerable areas
- Rising addiction among youth and students
- Limited rehabilitation and counseling facilities
- Social stigma preventing families from seeking help
- Need for accountability and transparency in enforcement
Our Requests to the Government:
We respectfully urge the Government of Punjab to implement a comprehensive Drug Crisis Action Plan, including:
- Stronger enforcement against drug trafficking networks with transparent monitoring
- Expansion of rehabilitation and de-addiction centers, especially in rural areas
- Free and confidential counseling services for addicts and families
- School and college-level awareness programs focused on prevention
- Skill development and employment support for recovering individuals
- Community participation models, involving NGOs, local bodies, and experts
- Regular public reporting on progress and outcomes
